Michael J. Lamontagne

General Manager

Michael J. Lamontagne is the founder and former owner/president of Form Tech Tool & Mold, Inc.  Michael is currently the General Manager of Form Tech after selling the company in December 2013.

Michael began his career working at Shape Corp. as a cassette/8-track assembler, then worked for some major companies, such as, Maremont Corp:  First class machinist building M16 and M50 machine guns, Watts Fluid Power: Tool and die maker, DAP Tool & Mold Inc.:  Apprentice moldmaker/B-moldmaker/A-moldmaker/Shop foreman, Jotco Enterprise:  Mold designer and moldmaker, Augat Inc.:  Mold and tool & die maker, KPC Moldmaking Inc.:  Shop foreman, then back to Shape Corp:  Mold component and fixture designer.

In 1990 Michael started Form Tech Tool & Mold, Inc. in a small garage in Dayton Maine as an entrepreneur/inventor/mold designer/consultant.  Michael built custom injection molds for all types of plastics and LSR.  Form Tech is now operating under 12,000 sq. ft., producing high precision custom injection molds for medical and military components.

In 2007, Mike Raymond, President/Owner, and Scott Roy, A-Moldmaker/Co-Owner, of Northern Mold Company merged with Form Tech Tool & Mold, Inc.  Merging the two companies expanded the capabilities and productivity, also increasing customer sales and expectations, which was a keystone toward Form Tech’s success.

Michael is known for his developing and co-developing for many companies, to name a few; injection moldable hooks and coining products for Velcro Corp., TALS practical tackle systems, in-mold lenticular lens development and production, in-mold hologram inserting, and CD technology.  Michael is a pioneer in developing/designing and building custom injection molds for LIM & LSR.

Michael brought the quality and detailed precision that was instilled in him while working at DAP Tool & Mold, and applied it to Form Tech.  Michael has 39 years of experience in precision machining/moldmaking, designing, inventing, molding, and operations management.
